Pan Disability Football League

Saints Foundation have teamed up with Hampshire FA and local disability teams to set up the county’s first pan disability football league.

It is back for its third consecutive season with 36 teams from all over Hampshire having signed up to play the 5-a-side format, which attracts people who love football and want to play matches, however find difficulties in accessing a mainstream team because of a disability or additional needs.

The league, which is sponsored by Irwin Mitchell LLP, is aimed at being inclusive to all abilities and experiences, and has three age groups: Under-12s, Under-16s and adults.

Saints Foundation continues to support local charter standard clubs to become self-sufficient with their own inclusive football provision through a variety of means. This includes signposting players who are interested in playing in the league, offering coach development specific to disability football through CPD courses helping to create a network of coaches within the industry and recruiting volunteers to help with the sessions.

Fawley Falcons, Eastleigh FC, Sholing FC and Hamble Youth Football Club are all examples of teams who are enjoying regular, competitive disability football.

Teams who have entered the league meet on eight fixture dates throughout the season. Saints Foundation Pan Disability League are always looking for more clubs, players, officials and volunteers to get involved. For more information please contact: mpink@saintsfc.co.uk.
