PPA/ PE CURRICULUM

By working closely with Hampshire County Council we have created an approved scheme of work which adheres to the National Curriculum and Ofsted requirements. This qualifies Saints Foundation to deliver school led schemes of work, as well our own bespoke programmes.

To ensure we provide a high quality service, all of our coaches working within schools have a minimum of a FA Level 2 in Coaching in Football and a 1st4Sport Level 2 in Multi Skills. To enhance our workforce Saints Foundation actively recruit coaches that have additional qualifications such as FA Level 3 in Coaching Football, Level 3 in Supporting the Delivery of Physical Education and School Sports (QCF), and ECB Level 2 in Coaching Cricket.

SCHOOL SPORTS CLUB

Saints Foundation coaches can deliver football and PE curriculum based School Sports Clubs that run in non-curriculum hours, the examples of these clubs are below:

Breakfast Club

This club provides the opportunity for children to have breakfast and start their day with physical activity which helps promote an active healthy lifestyle.

Lunchtime Club

This club gives your school the opportunity to have organised sport during the hours of lunchtime and can be used to serve any purpose i.e. promote inter tournaments, ease lunch time organisation, ensure fair play amongst children during playtime in accordance to school policy etc.

After School Club

This club is run as an extra-curricular activity and provides the opportunity for the children to have fun and learn during after school hours with their school friends.

Please note: In accordance to FA guidelines and Hampshire County Council, Saints Foundation operate on the basis of a 1:16 ration during our clubs. In the event of numbers exceeding 16 children the school will be required to hire an additional coach.

SCHOOL TOURNAMENTS

Inter and Intra Schools Tournament

Saints Foundation organises and assists in the delivery of Inter and Intra School Tournaments. Most notably the Foundation supports the South Wonston Inter Football tournament that consists of internal school teams competing against each other throughout the day to find an eventual winner. This provides the children the opportunity to compete in a fair, safe, and enjoyable environment, under the supervision of Saints Foundation’s guidance.

Premier League Schools Tournament

In association with the Premier League the Saints Foundation organise an annual regional schools 6-a-side tournament, where schools compete to represent Southampton Football Club at the Premier League School Tournament Finals which are held at a nominated Premier League stadium.

This years Under 11 mixed team tournament will take place at Goals Soccer Centre, Southampton on Tuesday 8th March 2016. The Finals tournament is being held at a Goodison Park, home of Everton FC on Tuesday 17th May 2016.

In preparation for the tournament the winning team will be invited to the Staplewood Training Campus for a training session with a Saints Foundation coach & a tour around the facilities used by the first team players.
