Premier League trophy visits Winchester schools
Two local schools recently had the pleasure of hosting one of English footballs most prized assets, thanks to local MP, Steve Brine.
The Premier League Trophy visited Weeke Primary School and Henry Beaufort School last week as a special reward from Steve Brine MP, much to the delight of everyone involved across the two events.
“I was delighted to be able to bring the Premier League trophy down here to Winchester, and the looks on the kids’ faces were priceless,” Steve Brine MP commented.
“The afternoon was truly unforgettable, and the energy that the Premier League team brought to the school, especially with their excellent Primary Stars campaign, was really something.”
As well as getting to see the coveted trophy up close, pupils at Weeke Primary also engaged in nutrition and PE lessons delivered by Saints Foundation as part of the Premier League Primary Stars programme.
“Working with The Premier League always provides special opportunities for the people we work with in the local community,” Saints Foundation Manager, Sam Fulling, commented. “Today’s Premier League Trophy visit was another demonstration of the positive impact programmes like Primary Stars can have on young people.”
The trophy then moved on to Henry Beaufort School, where teams from Saints Foundation’s partner schools competed in a tournament, with the trophy at the centre of the spectacle.
