Saints Connect participants take part in video workshop
Participants from Saints Foundation’s Saints Connect programme recently had the opportunity to take part in a video workshop run by a local production company.
Robin Creative Media delivered a full-day of video workshop for 11 participants from Redbridge Community School, as part of the Saints Connect Volunteer Scheme.
The Saints Connect Volunteer Scheme gives local businesses the opportunity to provide experiences for Saints Connect participants, with the aim of developing skill sets that aren’t always available within mainstream education.
Hosted at Marwell Activity Centre’s indoor and outdoor facilities, the students were split into two groups to complete a task set out by the Robin Creative Media team.
Using iPads and iPhones, each team had to produce a music video of their choice.
The main purpose of the activity was to develop teamwork within the group, but the task also relied on the students using skills such as their creativity, initiative and technical nuance.

The students developed their teamwork and communication skills during the day, and produced two excellent videos which they presented at the end of the day. As a result of the workshop, the Redbridge students will now be offered the opportunity to be part of an exclusive ‘Media Team’ for the Saints Connect Sports Leaders Event at Southampton FC’s Staplewood Campus in February 2018.
