Saints Foundation participants put their team building skills to the test at Battlefield Live
13 participants from Saints Foundation’s Premier League Works and Saints4Sport programmes recently had a unique opportunity to test their team building skills at New Forest Activities’ Combat Live.
Selected as a reward for their ongoing commitment and hard work in their respective programmes, it also provided an opportunity to test all the transferrable skills they learn throughout the programmes, including team-work, communication and problem solving.
“We are so fortunate to have been able to provide our participants with this unique opportunity,” Saints Foundation’s Premier League Works Project Officer, Dave Warnes, commented.
“It was nice for the group to be able to venture off into the New Forest, faced with a fresh, exciting new challenge. It brought the entire group closer together, leaving them feeling motivated to succeed in their own personal lives.”
A vital part of both the Premier League Works and Saints4Sport programmes is providing new experiences for its participants.
“The day showed that being a part of the Football Club is not just about football, it’s about team work, building confidence and having fun,” Saints4Sport’s Aaron New said. “Being involved has helped me learn to socialise and build a solid social network.”
Taking them out of their comfort zones and facing them with new challenges is part and parcel of teaching them vital skills they will need, whether it’s in employment, recovery or every day life skills.
