Saints Foundation prepare for Premier League Kicks Cup
Next week, Saints Foundation travel to Manchester to take part in the Premier League’s annual Kicks Cup.
The Premier League Kicks Cup 2018 will take place in Wythenshawe, Manchester on Thursday 19 April. Saints Foundation Kicks participants will join players representing 63 other Premier League, English Football League and National League clubs as we vie to be crowned Premier League Kicks Cup champions.
The event will see both a Mixed Under 16s and a Girls Under 16s competition take place and there will be other activities on site for participants to get involved in, including a #KicksTricks area with Football Freestyler Liv Cooke.
Premier League Kicks started in 2006 with community sessions delivered by four professional football clubs; Brentford, Fulham, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.
It aimed to give young people an opportunity to have fun playing football and to develop their skills and confidence through football with a view to creating safer, stronger, more respectful communities.
Now in its twelfth year, the project has grown considerably. It is now delivered by 69 professional football clubs across the Premier League, English Football League and National League. This represents an amazing commitment from the hundreds of community staff and volunteers dedicated to positively influencing the 243,845 young people that have engaged with the programme.
