Generation Gains
Generation Gains is our first ever programme that specifically works with isolated older people over the age of 65, many of whom do not have family members or friends to rely on.
With sessions delivered within local community settings at venues across Southampton, as well as at St Mary’s Stadium, Generation Gains has three key focuses: a core stability exercise programme that reduces the risk of falls in older people, reminiscence groups that use football and sport as a vehicle to tackle early signs of dementia and loss of memory amongst older people and an activity programme that offers a wide variety of social and physical activities, or sometimes just a chance to have a chat and a piece of cake!
It is truly a wonderful experience, we are looked after from the moment we arrive and throughout the sessions” – Bill Palmer, Generation Gains participant
